Tossing its hat into the awards season ring, Paramount Pictures’ The Gambler will have its world premiere on Nov. 10 as a gala screening at AFI Fest, the festival announced Monday. Directed by Rupert Wyatt from a screenplay by William Monahan , the film stars Mark Wahlberg as an English professor involved in high-stakes gambling. It was produced by Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson , Irwin Winkler , Robert Chartoff and David Winkler .
