Mexican cinematographer Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki on Sunday won his second BAFTA award in two years. At the film awards ceremony in London, he picked up the cinematography award for Birdman, a year after getting the same honor for his work on Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity. There has been only one back-to-back Oscar winner in the cinematography category. John Toll won in 1994 and 1995 for Legends of the Fall and Braveheart, respectively.
