Miley Cyrus attended Tuesday night’s amfAR Inspiration Gala in NYC, and she turned the event into quite the inspirational evening. Miley was honored at the event for her fight against AIDS, and she took the stage to give an emotional speech. As a date, Miley brought along with her a person named Tyler, who she introduced earlier in the day on her Instagram. She described Tyler as “a queer, biracial, agender person, whose pronouns are they/them/theirs.” Tyler joined Miley as part of the Happy Hippie Foundation, which she launched in early May. The nonprofit, which Miley spoke about in the Summer issue of Paper magazine, is meant to benefit homeless and LGBT youths. Miley’s been on somewhat of a streak lately when it comes to bringing awareness to LGBT issues. She was one of the many celebrities who voiced support for Caitlyn Jenner, so much so that she even made a Caitlyn Jenner cake just last week.
