Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented their latest Pre-Fall collection for their New York City-based brand The Row . With no prints, the eye was drawn to the pure, yet sombre palette of solid tones, from biscuit and sand to olive greens, blues, mauve and deep orange-red. A series of draped, almost religious robes allied with the sisters’ generally ascetic touches (a lot of pieces eschewed lapels and collars totally) and worked with minimalist raincoats.
There were also surf references, from wetsuit-style zippers and stitching to bonded neoprene style backings to fabrics, while more obvious luxury came in the form of fur wraps, suede and astrakhan coats, and sharp tailored separates.
