ARC Entertainment has acquired all North American rights to the family film, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism, based on the first in the six-book Molly Moon series by Georgia Byng. A VOD and limited theatrical release is planned for Aug. 14. Directed by Christopher N. Rowley and written by Byng, Rowley, Tom Butterworth and Chris Hurford, the film stars Raffey Cassidy, Emily Watson and Dominic Monaghan. The book tells the story of a young orphan girl, Molly Moon, who comes across a book Hypnotism, An Ancient Art, which allows her to hypnotize her way to London, where she becomes rich and famous, only to have her dog kidnapped and find herself subject to blackmail if she doesn’t participate in a jewel robbery.
