Morgan Freeman has signed on to star in action movie “Down to a Sunless Sea,” set up at Focus Features.
Focus has bought the script by David Gleeson. The logline is under wraps, other than being described as similar in tone to “Air Force One.” Producers are Bruce Cohen and Freeman’s Revelations, which is headed by Lori McCreary. CAA brokered the package deal.
Freeman starred in last year’s sci-fi hit “Lucy” with Scarlett Johansson and in “Ted 2.” He’ll be seen next year in “London Has Fallen” and the “Ben-Hur” remake.
