Netflix said on Thursday its original series Narcos will launch on Aug. 28. The announcement included unreleased photos, featuring Brazil’s top star Wagner Moura as Colombia’s legendary crime lord Pablo Escobar, and Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal as DEA agents. A promo reel featuring the slogan “Success is measured in grams” was also released. Created and directed by Jose Padilha, the show will depict story of how cocaine became such a huge problem in the U.S. and Europe – and how it all started here in Medellin. Shot on location in Colombia, Narcos is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix, with Eric Newman, Doug Miro, and Carlos Bernard as executive producers.
