Have we not cried enough tears this season, Grey’s Anatomy? You really want to make us cry even more?!
Shonda Rhimes has not gone easy on us Grey’s fans all season long. Every single couple has gone through the ringer, and even ones we thought were safe from heartbreak (cough, MerDer, cough) went through the most heartbreak out of anyone! We’re calling it now: Grey’s Anatomy, season 11, the most depressing season of television ever. And we’re not crying our eyes out yet…Rhimes is making sure of that. After April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) went through the toughest time of their lives, having to induce their baby early and watch as it died in their arms due to a rare bone disease, April decided she needed to find her purpose in life again.
During the time jump episode after Derek’s death, viewers watched as she joined the army to help heal the forces overseas, and kept extending her tour, despite the fact that Jackson missed her immensely the entire time she was gone. Now it seems like her desire to report back for duty might just destroy their relationship once and for all.
