Pregnancy hormones didn’t overwhelm Carrie Underwood Tuesday. So why was the country singer crying at the 8th Annual ACM Honors at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium? Wearing a pink-and-white gown with a belt above her tiny baby bump, Underwood got emotional as she accepted the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. The 31-year-old American Idol winner said she was getting misty-eyed sitting in the audience. Adding, “I had all kinds of stuff to say you guys and it’s all gone. I am so honored and so thankful and so blessed.”
Underwood also thanked her husband, professional hockey player Mike Fisher and her team. The event marked the first time Underwood and Fisher have attended a red carpet event since revealing their baby news.
