There was some major drama at Rick Owens’ fashion show in Paris yesterday—and this time it wasn’t because of a full frontal look. During the middle of the designer’s Spring 2016 presentation a model (identified as Jera) decided to stage a silent protest on the runway.
While walking, the young man held up a cloth with a handwritten note that read: “Please Kill Angela Merkel—Not.” The (sort of?) assassination request was referring to the current German chancellor.
Needless to say, Owens was enraged about this unapproved demonstration. The designer told multiple publications that he hit the model as soon as he reached backstage. Rick explained to Women’s Wear Daily, “It’s a crazy, rogue, ‘expletive’ model that I punched when he came back out.”
