Reese Witherspoon portrays a broken-down hiker with no hope in the upcoming biopic Wild . The film, from Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Valle, puts Witherspoon in the shoes of Cheryl Strayed, a woman whose failed marriage, foolhardy antics and mother’s death spark a fire in her to hike hundreds of miles along the Pacific Crest Trail.
