Richard Gere’s Time Out of Mind will open the 17th annual Sarasota Film Festival, it was announced Monday.
The film’s director Oren Moverman will also receive the festival’s hearts and minds of independent film award.
In Time Out of Mind, Gere plays a homeless man trying to restore his relationship with his estranged daughter played by Jena Malone. IFC is set to release the film in September.
