Ryan Gosling ran into some trouble while doing research for his directorial debut in Detroit. The actor had just completed filming The Ides of March opposite George Clooney in 2011, but stayed in the city to explore the environment and shoot footage of abandon buildings with a new HD digital camera. But the actor told the LA times that roaming around abandoned buildings apparently made him look suspicious to police, who detained him on suspicion of looking to steal copper.
