Sam Smith brings attention to the ongoing fight for marriage equality with the release of his new video for “Lay Me Down.” In the Ryan Hope-directed video, Smith envisions his own candlelit church wedding, with the camera slowing moving through the crowd before the song’s piano picks up the tempo and the celebration of Smith’s glorious day unfolds. Smith wrote about the importance of the video on his Facebook page saying, “This song holds a very dear place in my heart. With this video myself and Ryan Hope the director have decided to make a statement and showcase something we passionately believe in.”
