The cover song geniuses at Postmodern Jukebox took on Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” this time adding a 1940s old Hollywood style to the hit. The reworked version gets its big band sound from a chorus of of horns, upright bass and cymbal-heavy drums, but loses some of the original’s somber overtones in favor of a jazzier melody. But the female vocals manage to retain a bit Smith’s moodiness, but with an old-fashioned twist.
