MTV’s Mina Lefevre said, in the press release announcing the renewal, “It has been a wonderful experience working with Bob Weinstein and his team who are such connoisseurs of this genre and we are thrilled by how our viewers have responded to the reinvention of Scream. We look forward to another season filled with suspense, horror and more twists and turns.”
There was no comment yet on whether Season 2 would feature the same characters and setting or introduce a new story altogether — a question on viewers’ minds with several characters already being killed off.
