Sean Penn and Charlize Theron have helped to raise $6 million for the ongoing rebuilding effort in Haiti. Penn has worked for years to help Haitians get back on their feet following a deadly earthquake in 2010, and on Saturday, Penn and Theron hosted celebrity friends Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon and former U.S. President Bill Clinton at the Montage Beverly Hills for his annual pre-Golden Globes benefit for his J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Penn tells Eonline.com, “It’s essential support. At a certain point when there’s a disaster or a conflict in an area, there are grant monies for organizations like ours, but they dry up pretty quickly when you move into a development phase and so this particular night is essential to keep the work that we do going.”
