FIFA’s not exactly popular these days. In fact, it’s universally loathed. So here’s some news for all these hankering for a bit of schadenfreude with regard to world soccer’s massively corrupt governing body: The self-aggrandizing movie it commissioned to tell the story of now-disgraced president Sepp Blatter flopped massively in its United States debut weekend. United Passions took in a grand total of $607 this past Friday and Saturday across the 10 American theaters where it was released over the weekend. Yes, that’s $607 total — as in, $60 per movie house. United Passions — which Mashable actually made the sacrifice of reviewing — was commissioned by FIFA for some $25 million. It stars Tim Roth as Blatter, and features Sam Neill and Gerard Depardieu as well.
