The trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens released the day after Thanksgiving is, by now, probably the most-analyzed 88 seconds of celluloid since the Zapruder film. It has gained more than 100 million views online, to say nothing of tickets bought to see it before other features in the theater, and has utterly reignited the long-dormant passion of millions of casual Star Wars fans. But according to Disney CEO Bob Iger, fans nearly didn’t see it at all.
