A few days ago, people were stunned to learn that director Cary Fukunaga had exited New Line’s feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s It. When that news came out it sounded as though It was stuck in development hell, but Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that it is still moving forward. They go on to say that Warner Bros. is shopping for a new director to helm the project “and are currently meeting with candidates.” One would focus on the protagonists as children growing up in a small town where a monstrous creature, that takes the form of a clown, is murdering children. While the second film would show them as adults coming back to their hometown to deal with the creature once and for all. The pre-existing scripts are reportedly still in play.
