Sue Perkins, the Great British Bake Off co-presenter who was the bookmakers’ favorite to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear , has taken a break from Twitter. Perkins received abuse immediately after the speculation that she might replace Clarkson, who was sacked from the show after physically and verbally abusing a producer. She told her followers her “timeline has been full of blokes wishing me dead” after the news so she is “off Twitter for a bit.” However, the chorus of trolls grew louder over the following days and eventually prompted her to leave the site for some time.
