Taylor Swift’s new single “Welcome to New York,” the third released track from her upcoming pop album 1989. But it sounds a lot like Swedish singer Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend.” Though the lyrics have nothing in common, there’s no denying the similarities between the dance-ready beats and dramatic bridges. Swift sings about the allure of New York City, where she now lives after having left Los Angeles in March to call the Big Apple her new home. In a teaser video, the 24-year-old “Shake It Off” singer explained the inspiration for “Welcome to New York,” which is available on iTunes on Tuesday.
