The BBC will not be renewing Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear contract.
Director general Tony Hall said that the decision was made with “great regret”, following an investigation into a physical assault on producer Oisin Tymon that required hospital treatment.
Top Gear will be renewed without Clarkson for 2016.
The BBC released a statement with the news Wednesday afternoon.
“It is with great regret that I have told Jeremy Clarkson today that the BBC will not be renewing his contract,” it read.
