With Jurassic World dominating both domestic and international box offices, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return in the upcoming Terminator: Genesys, and The X-Files filming a new season, the ’90s appear to be back in a huge Hollywood way.
Rounding out the comeback is the sequel to Independence Day, the title of which has now been revealed as Independence Day: Resurgence.
Director Roland Emmerich, who also helmed the original film, and producer Dean Devlin revealed the new title from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where filming is taking place.
They also introduced the cast — a line-up of veterans and new additions including Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Liam Hemsworth, and Vivica A. Fox.
Goldblum, who is reprising his role as David Levinson, promises a bigger and better reboot.
