The impending return of The Powerpuff Girls has sparked some major excitement among fans of the tiny cartoon crimefighters, but the news of the show’s return came as a bit of a gut punch to the original cast.
Following Monday’s announcement of the new actors set to take over voicing the roles of animated trio Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Catherine Cavadini, Tara Strong and Elizabeth Daily all took to Twitter to express their sadness over being passed over for the roles they helped create.
The new cast of The Powerpuff Girls includes The Fosters star Amanda Leighton (Blossom), newcomer Kristen Li (Bubbles), and Natalie Palamides (Buttercup).
