Everybody loves Fargo. Everybody loves Fargo’s breakout star Allison Tolman. And of course everybody loves Archer. So what do you get when you put all three of those things together when Tolman guest stars on an upcoming Fargo-themed episode of Archer? One of the funniest episodes of TV you’ll see all season. That’s just a fact. But the greatest part of Tolman’s Archer stint is actually what happened behind-the-scenes before the episode was even in production…namely, how she got the guest starring part of Edie, Pam’s (Amber Nash) oft-mentioned horrible sister, in the first place. Archer executive producer Matt Thompson says, “We always talked about these terrible things that Edie did and we never had any intention of showing you Edie. Until we got drunk with Allison Tolman at an FX party and listened to her great Wisconsin accent that she did on Fargo and kind of convinced us to do it.”
