Amy Adams appeared on Good morning America last week, but this week The Today Show distastefully booted Amy Adams from her scheduled appearance on their morning show for refusing to discuss the Sony Hacks. Although she went to the Today show on Monday to promote her new film, Big Eyes, the producers told her she would be asked about the controversy. When she expressed her discomfort about the topic, Today insisted that she would have to answer questions pertaining to the Hack if she wanted to appear, declaring that they are “a news program”. Amy was involved indirectly with the scandal because it was revealed she and Jennifer Lawrence made far less money than their male co-stars in American Hustle — a movie for which she received an Oscar nomination. When the Today show’s producers insisted that she answer the questions, Adams relented and agreed to move forward with the sit-down. But when they realized they might not get significant answers from Adams about the hacking during a live interview, they canceled on the spot.
