Hedwig and the Angry Inch took home the award for best revival of a musical at Sunday night’s Tonys. The Neil Patrick Harris starrer beat out Les Miserables and Violet to take home the trophy at the 68th annual awards show. Heading into the ceremony, Hedwig had a total of eight nominations, including best musical revival, lead actor (Harris, who won), featured actress (Lena Hall, who also won), direction (Michael Mayer), scenic design (Julian Crouch), costume design (Arianne Phillips), lighting design (Kevin Adams, another winner) and sound design (Tim O’Heir). The production is currently scheduled to continue at the Belasco Theater through Aug. 17. It has been playing to capacity houses since its April 22 opening, grossing north of $9 million to date.
