Wrekin Hill Entertainment has acquired all U.S. rights to Liv Ullmann’s Miss Julie. The film, which premiered earlier this month at the Toronto Film Festival, stars Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton and is being poised for an awards season run (Wrekin Hill will release Miss Julie in theaters in December). Based on the classic August Strindberg play and adapted by Ullmann, Miss Julie is set during the course of a midsummer night in Ireland in 1890. Chastain, a two-time Oscar nominee, is expected to have a busy awards season, as she will be supporting A Most Violent Year, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby and Interstellar.
