More than a year after a car crash left him in a coma, actor and comedian Tracy Morgan told NBC’s Today show that he is still healing, but he vowed to come back to comedy.
“Right now, my goal is just to heal and to get better because I am not 100% yet, I’m not,” Morgan said in the Monday morning interview with Matt Lauer. “And when I’m there, you’ll know it, I’ll get back to making you laugh, I promise you.”
Morgan, 46, suffered severe head trauma, a broken leg and broken ribs when a Wal-Mart truck crashed into the limo he was traveling in on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014. Morgan and his entourage were returning from a show in Delaware.
His friend and fellow comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair was killed, and two others were seriously injured.
