The evening news battle has tipped in ABC’s favor. After logging multiple weekly wins in the key news demo of adults 25-54, both before and after NBC anchor Brian Williams’ suspension, World News Tonight has overtaken Nightly News for the season.
David Muir’s first season as anchor of the ABC broadcast has now eclipsed the perennially dominant Nightly News, ever so slightly, with an average 2.113 million viewers in the group of adults 25-54. ABC’s victory among total viewers was even bigger, with nearly 200,000 more viewers watching.
