Two words: colorful hijabs. Uniqlo has teamed with fashion designer and blogger Hana Tajima to create a line for Muslim women. The collection will be available in select Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia locations and online starting Friday. Her LifeWear collection features garb from pleated skirts to trousers and long dresses, in addition to more traditional items like the hijab and kebaya with a colorful and printed twist, wraps and pleated tunics, and layered blouses. Tajima told Mashable, “For a lot of women, a singular and specific cultural identity isn’t what they relate to… there is a lot of ingenuity and making do with what’s available on the high-street, but you just don’t find clothes that were made for you. A line of modest clothing was a way to reach a lot of people who are very often overlooked.”
