Breaking Badspinoff Better Call Saul may have brought people back from the dead for the prequel, but don’t look for appearances from Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in its first season. Executive producer Peter Gould told reporters during a panel for the show at the Television Critics Association press tour, “We really want this to stand on its own, and we don’t want to mislead people, and have them expect something that’s not going to happen. But having said that, everything else is on the table.” Creator Vince Gilligan added that Jesse, in particular, would be difficult to bring to the Better Call Saul world, as the character would likely be middle school-or early high school-aged.
