With the start of Season 3 of House of Cards , LookLive , an interactive website and app set to launch in April, allows you to stream popular television shows while shopping their wardrobes. Founders Christopher Archer and Gerbert Kaandorp use artificial intelligence to accurately identify the products from the show. The idea came when Archer worked at a large cable company. He frequently received emails from customers asking what characters from various television shows were wearing. The computer can notice trends before they are even trends, through data mining. Archer calls it “influencer engagement,” when costume designers of popular shows begin to favor upcoming brands before they blow up on consumer markets.
