“The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart’s studio audience learned the news that would shortly become public: The comedian will be leaving the host chair after 17 years. Stweard said he doesn’t have any immediate plans. Stewart said he’s been fortunate to host the show, but he added, “in my heart I know it is time for someone else to have that opportunity.”
