Much like some of the characters on the show, Halt and Catch Fire feels wiser and more grown up as it enters Season 2.
At the end of its freshman season, the show saw techies Cameron, played by MacKenzie Davis and Donna, played by Kerry Bishé join forces for a new venture called Mutiny.
When Season 2 begins, more than a year has passed since the duo broke away, and things aren’t going as smoothly as they’d hoped.
Costs are high, and they’re battling an infrastructure that can barely support the scale of their idea.
They’re also sort of battling each other: Donna sees the need for an authoritative figure at the company, but has no desire to be that, and Cam isn’t up for the task.
According to showrunner Jonathan Lisco, these growing pains will drive Season 2.
