It’s all change on the spinning red chairs this year as The Voice returns with new female coach Rita Ora. The Black Widow singer is replacing pop princess Kylie Minogue for the new series, joining returning coaches will.i.am, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones. Coming back to BBC One several months early, perhaps to avoid clashing with its rival ITV show the X Factor, The Voice will be expected to turn up the heat after being criticised in the past for being boring. Beeb bosses will be hoping the arrival of the feisty and honest Rita Ora as a new coach will add a touch of spice to the show just like Mel B did for Simon Cowell’s X Factor. The blonde singer signed a six-figure deal to do The Voice months after rejecting a 1million offer from Simon Cowell to star on this year’s X Factor.
