Let the zombie apocalypse continue.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, World War Z’s sequel has confirmed a release date. The Brad Pitt-produced project is set for release on June 9, 2017.
Director Juan Antonio Bayona will work alongside screenwriter Steven Knight, who will pen the sequel for Paramount and Skydance.
Knight’s resume includes Pretty Little Things, David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises and Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island. The screenwriter is repped by CAA and U.K.’s United Agents. Directed by Marc Forster, World War Z has scored $540 million worldwide since its June 2013 release.
