Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the first black president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has issued a statement amid the uproar over the lack of diversity in this years’ Oscar nominations. The Oscars’ 20 acting slots, announced Thursday were filled entirely of white nominees, notably for only the second time since 1998.
