It doesn’t matter how old you are, hearing the word “poop” on live TV will make you laugh like a little kid, so when Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs flubbed Dick Pope ‘s name during the Oscars nominations announcement and said Dick Poop instead, the world clung to it. Instantly going viral, the video shows the president announcing Pope’s nomination for Best Cinematography for Mr. Turner, but her pronunciation mistake quickly overlooked the honor. Pope, however, had no idea what had happened because he was busy in London. According to the Los Angeles Times, the 67-year-old also has no idea what “trending” means. He told the newspaper,
“If that’s what people talk to each other about on [Twitter], I would never be on it. Not if that’s the level of intelligent conversation.”
