Director J.J. Abrams, helming the first installment to the next Star Wars trilogy, recently hinted at fulfilling a dream some fans of the series have had since the first reboot.
Seeing the comic-relief character Jar Jar Binks gone from the beloved movies like the sands of Tatooine on the wind.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Abrams joked about adding Jar Jar’s remains as an Easter egg for audience members.
He said, “I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Binks’ bones in the desert [of Jakku].”
Fans have been trying to kill the Gungan off for some time as best they could.
One editor even took a deleted scene from The Phantom Menace and turned it into a way to remove Jar Jar from the picture before he’d even started:
