At the BAFTA awards in London on Sunday night in accepting the honor for best animated film, The Lego Movie directors said, “You are our favorite Academy by far.” In the process, they took a swipe at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences in Hollywood for not nominating the film for an Oscar last month. Backstage, they also noted that they were “about a third of the way through the script” for the sequel and that they were “a little behind.” According to Box Office Mojo, the Lego Movie’s global box-office revenue stands at nearly $469 million. The sequel, also from Warner Bros., is scheduled to be released in 2017.
