Stars backstage at the Academy Awards will cool their heels in a chic oasis created by L.A.-based design collective Commune — with an Oscar-veteran assist from presumptive best actress winner and interiors aficionado Julianne Moore . Inspired by classic Hollywood Hills living — think dinner at Joan Didion’s circa 1965, says the Commune team — both the indoor and outdoor rooms feature roomy banquettes along with midcentury furnishings and objects. Moore’s contributions ranged from the aesthetic and the sensory to the practical, notes Commune co-founder Roman Alonso, who with partners Steven Johanknecht and Pamela Shamshiri conceived and designed the 900-square-foot Architectural Digest Greenroom.
