The National Federation of Thai Film Associations said Monday, Thailand has submitted Nithiwat Tharatorn’s romantic drama Teacher’s Diary as its candidate for the best foreign-language film honor at the 2015 Oscars. The movie from Thai studio GTH grossed more than $3 million, ranking second in Thailand this year. Thailand has been submitting movies to the category on and off since 1985, but has yet to make the short-list of nominees.
