Congrats, Internet. Left Shark has officially jumped the shark. After Katy Perry’s weird Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday, no one could stop talking about one of her dancers, dressed as a shark and standing on her left, who didn’t seem to know the choreography very well. And now, less than 48 hours after its debut, Left Shark has died. Its death became official after a photograph of a Left Shark tattoo surfaced in a Reddit thread titled “LEFT SHARK FOREVER!” The user who posted the image was not immediately available for comment, but posted in the thread, “Good friend just posted this tattoo her friend got today. Had to share the awesomeness.”
